Tobias John is political scientist. His research interests cover policy analysis focussing on internal security, theoretical perspectives on political actions and political influence. In his doctoral thesis he examined a theoretical perspective focussing on inconsistent developments in the political area of internal security.
He is deputy head of the BMBF funded junior research group PluS-i at the Institute of Political Science at the University of Münster and focuses on analysing political aspects of plural policing to identify differend models as well as aspects of political influence and legitimacy in the context of different plural policing models. Previously, he worked as researcher in BMBF funded projects regarding crime-prevention („KoSiPol“) and security in public transportation („SkoBB“).
